The size and demographics of the nation has not stopped Israel from being one of the most economically advanced countries of the world. It also holds one of the important seats on the stage of world politics. Though the population consists mostly of orthodox Jewish people, the main cities and the surrounding desert region have a mix of “secular Jews” who are modernized but still follow traditions passed on through the generations.
